Safety was priority one for me. I did a ton of research on the topic and didn't even consider cost. I didn't ever want to have to go through my child getting injured in an accident and then look back and think, gee, I wish I spent a few more dollars on a better car seat. The best rated by the National Hiway Traffic Safety Administration was the Cosco Summit Highback. It had straight A ratings and it actually wasn't much more than most other seats and it's safety compared to a similarly rated Britax. I would have paid for the Britax, but in the end the Cosco had some nice arm rests and a cup holder that I knew my little girl would enjoy. We ended up buying four of them, one for each car and one for each set of grandparents car.

I personally think Britax(although pricey)is one of the safest on the market. When buying make sure the shoulder straps are not too far apart, the seat isn't huge and if it is, it must have infant support, read the weight requirements, read your vehicle owners manual as some carseats aren't compatible with certain vehicles, comfort, easily adjusted straps and easy clean up are a plus also. Head support and a 5 pt harness are important and the new seats come with energy absorbing foam under the padding! Here are some sites to help you:

I'm planning on getting the Britax Convertible Care Seat. They are spendy, but I think they can hold a child up to 65 pounds. I have heard a lot of good things about these car seats.

Six months, at the same time as my large outgrew his toddler seat. I regarded on the Britax that anybody is procuring, in spite of the indisputable fact that it regarded no diverse than some (a lot) more cost-effective ones... i purchased the Evenflo Titan Elite for both autos, and we like it. really worry-free to apply, snug, and could very last a lengthy time period, even although our son grows like a weed. only $100; a nil.33 the fee of the Britax.

my car seat is baby trend. I love it it snaps in and out of his stroller. and the head peice adjust for when he gets bigger. My favorite feature is when ya put it in the car it has and indicator on it that changes color if it is not installed correct. Also it changes when baby is too heavy for it. Another important feature ya should look for when buying any thing is weight because babies grow quick as you know. And they gain weight quick and some things only go to a certain weight. GOOD LUCK!

I love the Alpha Omega car seat. It can be used as a booster as well. Also, my 3 year old can't figure out how to unbuckle it.
