Go for a walk in the woods. No better way to escape reality than to get out into what's real.

I close my eyes for a moment and free my mind from the cage of drudgery. Then I open my eyes and for a time, the lovely dreams within my head can still be impressed on heart and soul. That's how I get through most of the day anyway.

When not at work, I read a book or watch a movie, maybe listen to some soft music & have a glass of wine while indulging in a bubble bath. For something more active, I do anything that allows creativity to flow such as take photos, ride bikes, or whatever strikes my fancy that I can afford to do.

I either sleep and dream; or I watch t.v. - a good, compelling crime drama or a funny comedy will transport me from my reality for a half hour or hour at a time.

listen to my favorite musical artists....sometimes song lyrics can better explain how a person is feeling than the actual person who is feeling it

or i write poetry/free write.... letting your minds language flow through your fingers onto a piece of paper without a verbal mind filter is an amazing feeling and can sometimes help resolve where true feelings of self-disruption originate from.

I like to go to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls. Takes my mind off things and helps me relax. Give it a try sometime, you might enjoy it.
