what would happen? would you keep falling forever, or fall back down when you get to the middle, or is it physically impossible?

Well, the quick answer is that it's physically impossible. We can only dig so deep into the earth.

If it were somehow possible, I imagine you'd be suspended at the earth's core, the center of gravity. It wouldn't make sense to float up from the core.

But you'd burn up before you ever got there.

If you were to ignore air resistance, you would oscillate for ever from sea level (at the north pole) to about 10,000 feet (3,000 metres) below surface level at the south pole as that is the height of the surface on the antarctic continent (all other considerations also being ignored).Realistically, were the hole actually possible, you would be burned to a crisp as the temperature at the centre of the Earth is several thousands of degrees, due largely to radio-active processes I believe.Ignoring this consideration, but accepting wind resistance, each jouney through the centre would be slightly slower, and you would eventually come to rest at the centre of the Earth.
