only use bmw brake parts. the pads and rotors are made for each other and will give you superior stopping power. that's why it's the ultimate driving machine. using cheaper parts saves you a few dollars but will usually start causing vibrations after 10k and squeak. i see this all the time. other car makes you can use aftermarket brakes but not good for bmw's.

I had a Neon where the factory rotors always warped but never warped with Raybestos brand rotors. I realize that BMW's are a different beast but what if one cannot afford BMW's prices. One could say to not purchase a BMW but what is done is done....

It depends on where u live, but just 1 advise perches the parts from the BMW company, out side of the company u can buy them cheaper, but if u wanna perches them u should change them two ice as u change the original ones. (with my experience)
