Despite what the employment experts tell you, it may be a week, a month, six months or you may never hear anything.

Each company has its own unique way of processing applications, setting up interviews, etc. Not every company will contact every applicant. Most hiring managers that I have worked with are too busy to take calls from people who want to know "Have you received my resume?" or "Thank you for the interview, when do you anticipate making your final decision?"

If you are looking for a job in general, keep right on looking. If you get called you get called. If you go for an interview, keep right on looking. Until you have accepted an offer you are still looking.

Good Luck!

You will receive a notice from them, whenever they found the right candidate for the position.

You might be the candidate they're looking for, but they might try to find a candidate who is unexpensive vs you, and they might do that.

It sounds unethical, but most of the times, is the awful truth.
