Every weekday I awake at 6am and get my children off to school and then go back to sleep until 11:00. Which then I get up and start my daily chores and activities. Most nights I won't go to bed until midnight. Should this be a health concern?

well. u wake up so early that of course you are going to gert tired in mid day. yes, if you do take a long enough nap during the mid day, you'll have a hard time going to bed early the next night.

that's why if i'm tired, i try not to nap, because i know that if i do, i won't go to bed early the next night.

but you can still get away with it, if you only nap for short periods (15, 30 minutes max). so next time you nap, put your alarm on for only half an hour, that way you can regain some energy and not be tired AND go to sleep at 'NORMAL" HOURS at night.

the reason i don't do it all is because It takes me literally half an hour to 45 minutes JUST TO ALL ASLEEP, so if i put my alarm to half an hour, then by the time i fall asleep, the alarm will go off and i would only have slept for like probably one minute.

but try it and see if it works for you. and good luck

Well, if you don't work then I don't see why you should need to sleep during the day if you're getting 6 hours of sleep a night. Sleeping til 11am is awfully late if you're going to bed at midnight. Try setting your alarm for 8am. You're probably tired during the day because you're used to sleeping so much. I used to sleep alot but since I started exercising, I'm fine w/alot less sleep and I feel better too. Get your morning off to a start by taking a jog. Get your heart rate up. Maybe get a part time job. If you're a house wife maybe it's depression cause you're home all day. I heard that happens to most wives who don't work. My uncle's a surgeon but his wife still works while the kids are at school because she doesn't want to sit around all day.

No, this isn't anything to worry about - everybody's sleep and wakened pattern are different. Also these patterns change as you go through life.

As a teenager my mother had a hard job to get me out of bed to go to college each morning. Now I'm in my 70s and I'm up at 5.00am as bright as a button - but I take an afternoon snooze and unless something interesting is happening, I'm in bed by 10.00pm.
Our social obligations - like family, work and leisure - set the pattern of our days and we fit our sleeping times into this pattern.
Some peoples' timetables seem very bizarre but if it works for them and they don't feel stressed or ill then it's nothing to feel worried about..

No. Go with your body's natural "clock!' I get up at 3AM and work until noon. After running errands, etc, I'll often need to nap for an hour or two. Not everyday, but I'm not as young as I used to be. Napping during the day, if you can get away with it, is a luxury!
