This is difficult, it's like asking how do you avoid sadness or fear. Jealousy is an emotion and the best way to avoid feeling jealous is to avoid situations that can cause the emotion to be triggered. So, say your significant other likes to kiss other people and this cases you to get jealous, explain to him/her that this affects you negatively. If they have feelings for you they will avoid these behaviors

When you find out let me know! I know my jealousy comes from previous relationships that were hurtful! Instead of letting it go I brought all that baggage into my marriage! I treat my husband as if he is one of the guys that cheated and hurt me. Which he isn't. It is destroying our marriage. He just wants my trust! So I am seeking some counseling so that I can work through my insecurities.

if you want something someone else has, convince yourself that what you have is better, because it probably is. you are an individual and you dont need anyone or anything to dictate your feelings but you. point out things about the jealousy item that you WOULDNT want.

By realizing that jealousy is a form of possession and control and I do not own another person.
They have allowed me to be with them and I appreciate that, but I stake no claim to them.

I guess it is near impossible...if you figure it out please let me know. The only thing that I have found that helps at all is realizing that you are just being jealous and let it roll off without making a stink about it. Realize that you are just being thin skinned. If you start dwelling on things that make you jealous, think about positive things...get up and do something to busy your mind...it seems to help me a bit.

Well, it's hard to avoid, but you can keep from yielding to it. Just be secure in yourself and don't worry about others so much. It's such an ugly emotion, though we all experience it at points in our lives. Just try to rise above it.

don't be in a "friends with advantages" concern. in case you care adequate with reference to the lady you're engaging in "advantages" with which you do no longer intend to make her jealous or injury her, then perchance you're able to evaluate being extra desirable than friends with advantages.
