Yes, while a woman is least likely to get pregnant during her period, she can. During menstruation a woman's body is flushing out both the unfertilized egg and the lining her body prepared for the possibility of a fertilized egg, so it is quite difficult to get pregnant during this time. Yet it is not impossible. Sperm can reside inside of a woman's body for several days after sex, and a very slim chance exists that these several days will extend into the beginning of a woman's fertile period. The greater risk involved with having unprotected sex during a woman's period is that she has mistaken spotting or other midcycle bleeding for her period. If this is the case, then a woman may be having unprotected sex at a time when she is very much fertile.

Well personally, I had a period 3 times while I was pregnant. My aunt had hers the whole time she was pregnant. However, this is not normal and as a precaution, you should get checked out. It's normal to have spotting occasionally, but it is a very rare occurence to have a period while pregnant. The pregnancy should stop your period and if you are having one, it could be a sign of trouble. When I had my period, I got checked out until they stopped because I thought I was miscarrying the baby. Just to be safe, go to a clinic or a hospital and have them check you out. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, some women have their period throughout their pregnancy, it is usually lighter then normal. However, you should go and check with your gyno and make sure it is just that and nothing else.
