That is quite normal.
Everyone wants to be a part in the welcoming of a new baby, even if that just means sitting around with the mom-to-be, eating cookies and passing around baby party favors.
Enjoy all the attention aimed at your little one and yourself. It's all worth it in the end an dyou wont believe how much stuff people will want to give you and baby at that shower.
My shower had about 45 people and I have enough thigns for my son, another baby, and I gave some of it to Goodwill.
If you want a smaller shower, just let your mom know you'd rather have your closest friends and a few family members. She'll understand. She only wants to make you and baby happy!!
Congratulations on your little one and I hope you enjoy your party, whatever number of people you decide will be there!!! :)

Girl there is no Norm when it comes to stuff like that! Make sure you register everywhere and put that list of stores in your invitaions that way you won't get duplicate stuff. But at your baby shower you should expect to get pretty much everything you need for the new baby that includes big ticket items like car seats, strollers etc... Not to mention diapers to last at least the first 2 months or so. Trust me you will be soooo happy to have a lot of guest at your baby shower so have fun and good luck!

Yes this is normal. Put just remember that if you invite 50 people there is a good chance that not everyone will be able to make it to the shower. At my shower a member of the church I was attending put it on, and I honestly didn't even know half the ladies there. So be thankful your going to know everyone and be comfortable with your surrounding.

There's nothing wrong with a huge shower! Mine's going to be pretty big as well (40-50 people) and I think the more the merrier. Think of all the wonderful things you will get for the baby that you won't have to buy yourself. Just make sure you give some unique party favors!

The more the merrier! There isn't a correct number of people that should be invited to a baby shower. You can have as many people as you want.I've been to baby showers with lots of people..maybe even 50!Think of all the great gifts you'll be getting. The important thing however is to enjoy the peoples company who are present so you can have a nice time yourself!Something special to remember!Good luck with that and with your baby!!

Oh come on, you know you want all those gifts, otherwise you wouldn't allow anyone to give a party on your behalf! I don't follow norms so I never wanted wedding or baby showers cuz I like buying my own things and not place the burden on others for my material things. I hate going out and buying gifts for all these "girlie" parties! Not my bag.

A baby shower can be as big or small as you want. Celebrate your baby with many friends and family. It's a great way to get what you need and celebrate with friends and family.

The more people, the more baby gifts you will get - look at it that way!! Seriously, though, 50 people is a lot, but I wouldn't say it's uncommon. Provided they are people you like, why not enjoy a big party? Have fun!!
