Some people strive to be victims. Today's black youth not only grew up without slavery, segregation, and other racist laws, but the laws in their favor now. If a black man and a white man with similar backgrounds go for the same job, the employer has to worry about a lawsuit if he hires the white man. Any minority man has the clear advantage.
Colleges have actually requirements to have a certain percentage of minorities. Qualified white kids are turned away for less-qualified minorities. So, the minorities really have very little to complain about except the occasional racist who will never change his opinion regardless of laws or "sensitivity training."
What does that leave them with? Claiming that they can't succeed because of something that happened many generations ago.
You know, not all white people grow up rich and powerful. Many of us come from low-income homes as well. We just don't get coddled all throughout life.

They do not seek equality, they seek preference...
Not to agree with "them", slavery may have ended here in America over a century ago but it still persists in many parts of the world. We (all who work to support ourselves and our families) are still suffering from "slavery" by our own free will. We are slaves to our jobs, families, government, wants and needs, etc... The difference is we have a choice. Being dominated is only slightly worse than willfully submitting. Many people worldwide are still being dominated while many more are simply willfully submitting.
If any good came from slavery it would be that those among us today who can trace their heritage to slaves, have opportunities today that their ancestors and relatives in the land of their forefathers never had. The ancient hebrews were enslaved throughout history, we don't hear the Jewish whining about it today.

we aren't programmed like robots. We experience pregudice throughout our life and our observations from parents and peers make an impact on our beliefs as adults. If you grow up with freedom to have an open mind, and hate isn't drilled into you and there is no right or wrong way to be externally and internally, than you are one of the lucky ones. I am too.
An intelligent person with an open mind tends to be less judgemental.
In our culture, our external features cause our internal feelings and thoughts be skewed or misunderstood by many. That is why we have so much conflict.
Hopefully, this up and coming generation can put light on openmindedness and regain our god given right of freedom.
Our freedom is in question because of the massive population we've created.
It is true that there are laws that have abolished slavery, but that doesnt mean that blacks are still treated fairly. The grude is definiatly still there towards the white race for creating the hatred. But everyone is scared of the unknown.

The people you are talking about will do anything to prevent taking responsibility for their own lives. They were never slaves and you and I never owned slaves. Despite that they demand that you and I be taxed to pay them guilt money. I don't feel guilty.
The same people never acknowledge that there were slaves of different races. The same people never acknowledge the thousands of Union soldiers that lost their lives fighting for the freedom that they themselves have today. Some of these people have now become Muslims who seek to commit acts of terrorism against us and put the entire country under the opressive thumb of Islam so that none of us will have freedom. Many of these people fill our prison system and welfare registry. Most of these people are raised by only one parent.
Few escape this group because the group hates and drags down those that are successful.
What is the solution to this problem?
Babies need two loving parents. When the single mother problem is solved, it will pave the road for the other issues to be solved.
Welfare needs to have a price tag. If I'm paying your living with my tax money, you owe me work. Nothing is free. Get used to it. There are pleanty of government jobs that need doing. Meet the performance requirements or get fired and lose your welfare check. On job training would increase the job market skills of the individuals and help them to compete for better paying private sector jobs.

Because the effects of slavery still psychologically effects black people today. Attitudes and feelings of inferiority have been passed down from generation to generation so how easy is it to get over something that still has effects on generations of people today. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that anyone living today is to blame for this. I just think it should be noted that just because slavery is over doesn't mean it didn't leave behind some long-term results that people still have to deal with today. That's why race relations are the way they are in America.
Tofu Jesus, I couldn't agree more!

Because you do not have to be enslaved to consider yourself unequal its really how they are treated that most people who start to shout we are not equal! Well I do agree with you they do need to shut the hell up sometimes and get over it. But when it happens to you is when you realize that we will never be equal as long as there is color and people feel one color is better than the other. I always said with all the interracial dating one day we will all be one color and then everyone cant say im different because Im of a different race. hahahaha we will see what happens

What do you mean we have no more slavery? We still have slavery, it is just under a new name called government subsistence. When you have perfectly healthy people who won't work and expect to be taken care of by the master (Government), then you have slavery. The sad thing is they didn't even realize they were giving away their freedoms.

Both the slaves and the slave owners were losers. The slaves had a loss of freedom, but the slave owner could not go that far and had all the costs and responsibilities. Today, most of us are slaves to our jobs and the high cost of living and taxes. The slave owners would have been better off to pay the slaves for the work they did. Both would have been more productive.

Women still get paid only .60 to every dollar a man earns for the same qualifications and the same job.
And working class people who have jobs work for wages that cannot possibly support them and a family. This is called corporate greed and the working class are their slaves.

There is slavery, but I believe you're referring to black people in the United States. That's over, but there are idiots everywhere and not all of them are in the south.
