Pull up your yard and cover it with sodd. If your yard is too big, look for a herbicide that will treat them without killing off your native grass. If thats not possible, find a grass that is resistent to hthe herbicides you have available and till the area and seed with a different variety of grass. If you have a well maintained, fed, fertalized yard the grass will croud out the weeds. If you want to talk to a local expert find the nearest golf course. They always have to deal with the same species of weeds in any neighborhood and its their job to be able to defeat them. So they will probably know some little known tricks. If all that is too difficult, just do a serch for dog shoes. They may sound funny but I have them for my dogs when we go out in the snow for extended periods of time or are on hot desert dock. They are soft fabric booties similar to vinyl and the doges dont seem to mind them. they can keep thorns and burrs out of the dogs feet.

Fence in your yard, treat the area with weed killer. Till up the soil, fertilize and seed with grass. That's it. just make sure you apply a good maintenance schedule. Spot treat those pesky weeds before they seed. Otherwise it can get out of control quickly. Once that happens its an uphill battle easily lost.
