It is not clear when you said get it not accessible error, is it when you write to it and it said not accessible or even when you try read from it?

If only write to it and it said not accessible, then first make sure the write protect switch on the side is set correctly.

If the write protect switch is set correctly but still doesn't work (or you get not accessible error even when you try read from the disk), try reformat the floppy disc and see if that help?

If it is very old floppy disc, it is possible the disc got corrupted. Reformat may help but not always if too many bad sector. Try another floppy disc and see if it is the disc problem.

More than likely the slidey thing is open.On the back of the floppy at the bottom right hand corner, there is a sliding button and it should be pushed as high up as possible. If it isn't then that stops the connection and you have to have it up for your floppy to work.

I had the same problem when I used to use floppys and I only knew about the switch because my I.T teacher told me a few years ago.

P.s. You won't lose the information if you slide it up but you will lose it if you re-format the disk which I do not recommend only as a last resort.

The floppy drives are a $10.00 item and have a tendency to break. I would replace the drive and use new floppys. A defective floppy disk can damage the drive.
