If you go to the link below, you will see what the State of Missouri uses to determine the amount of child support. As others have said, there are *MANY* factors involved, including how many other children each person has (not with person child support is being paid to), whether or not the non-custodial parent is paying for medical insurance premiums, child care (daycare), additional schooling costs, or has shared custody in a way that let's him have the child over a certain number of days per year. All these factors must be placed into the formula, along with the income of BOTH parents involved, before a figure is decided upon.

So you think the woman's income shouldn't matter? A divorce decree is not a "get out of working forever" card. If she works and makes around as much as he does, then why should he have to pay a lot?
I'll admit that I've never heard of a man being required to pay so little for three children, but each situation is different. Perhaps she accepted a big payment up front instead of a big monthly check. Perhaps you have the facts wrong, and it's $250 per child. Maybe two of the children aren't really his?
Tell your friend to get a better lawyer if she wants to bleed the man for more money.

Her income does come into play when determining child support, but that is a very low number. Many states have set formulas for child support payments.
If Missouri is like other states, either side can have the amount of support reviewed every two years by going back to court. In this case, it appears the mother may be justified in doing so.

in case you somewhat do not care what human beings imagine, then do not care. My mom had 4 youthful toddlers/3 dads, she changed into an ok mom. yet now that I have a three 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous and a million on the way through my husband, I see each and each of the pieces that i changed into lacking through no longer having a dad round 24/7. human beings have evaluations and also you're not to any extent further gonna change their minds. So what in the experience that they difficulty about your existence, it really is their own problem. you adore your toddlers and look after them and that is all that count number. in my view, i could not see it myself, nor do i imagine i ought to cope with it. To Zooloo: sure S*** takes position, yet no longer 3 circumstances...fool me once, shame on you...fool me two times, shame on me

It's whatever the state guidelines say it is.
My husband had to pay $500.00 a month for one child in Nebraska on a $31,000 a year salary. Go figure !

Not that I'm aware of... who told you that or is that what you pay...? Maybe $250.00 per child per paycheck or maybe monthly but I highly doubt that it is that small of an amount but it all depends on what type of child support and a bunch of other factors... If you don't agree with the amount go to court to try and resolve your issue with the amount you're getting...

In N.Y., it's 17% for 1 child and 25% for more than 1 child. I'm not sure about your area

It depends on the legal agreement.
There are a lot of variables that go into it including the woman's income, the level of custody, etc.

unfortunately he is alowed to claim all living costs and expences before the dispossable income is then divided up between himself and any children,
the state is not very good at this type of thing and you would have been better sorting this out yourself,"does he not love his kids"??, i pay £400 pounds which is approximately 700 dollars a month for one girl who is now almost 16, i pay because i want ther to have a life as its not her fault that me and her mum split up,, your ex seems a bit cold hearted to me..
good luck to you and your kids.
