This is a touchy situation. I try to figure out logically WHAT I may have done recently to piss him off, then work at correcting it. With my boss, it's facial expressions, he hates when I roll my eyes :)
My boss is younger than me, and has his own quirks to, we all do, so I remind him that just because he's a "shirt" doesn't change his DNA! :)
I will also ask directly, what did I do, and can I correct it, but usually I don't need to, I know what I did, and will make up for it, only because I like my boss and respect him as a person and leader, and he knows that! :)
Just think things over, and go with your conscience, talk to your boss if you feel you can, or simply correct your actions/mistakes, simple! :)

Treat him with respect and give your best. Prayer always helps, too. Also, you don't always know what's going on in your boss's private life so, it could be something totally unrelated to you and you will later find out that you made a big deal out of nothing, stressing over something totally unnecessary. Good Luck.

Go to your boss and ask him/her did you do something wrong? If you did ask them how you can correct the situation. Although sometimes they are angry and it has nothing to do with you but their attitude is projecting on you.

Approach him by asking if you can sit with him for a minute or two. When you are in there be specific on what is bothering you and ask him the same. don;t beat around the bush it takes to long and in the world of business you can appreciate time. Good luck and best wishes.

Lots of good answers here. "COMMUNICATE!!" seems to jump out of it all. If you tell him flat out what your impression is he will tell you that either it has nothing to do with you, or, what you need to do, probably the former. AND,He will appreciate you for telling him whats on your mind.

You should never assume anything. He may be upset at something else. First of all, be honest and ask him if he is mad at you. If he is, then ask what you can do to make it better.
