My last period started on Aug. 30th. My cycles are irregular sometimes. I took First Response test today and it was negative. Did I test too early? I have been having some lower back and abd pain on and off, breast have been tender and could feel pain shooting through them @ times, have been having some acid reflux plus I have a headaches daily and have not been able to sleep well. I know that some of these things could just be PMS symtoms. AF should show up in about the next week or so if I am on schedule. We just recently started started not using any protection. We are both ready and know that it can take some time. Right now we are if it happens it happens.

yes you may have tested too early. Depending on when you ovulated you may not get a positive hpt for another 5 days. I ended up ovulatingg later this month and I started to test at 7 days after ovulating which was on day 25. I used first response and it was negative. I waited 2 more days and tested again and still negative. Then I tested again 3 days later and it was positive. I always used first response. So, it is very possible that you are testing too early. Only about 64% of women get a positive hpt 5 days before their period. That is also knowing the exact day you ovulated. If you say your period isn't due until next week then try and wait a few days and test again. The longer you wait the better the chance of an accurate test. Negative results can be so sad so I feel for you. Best of luck! Oh and your symptoms sound just like mine were. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I know this is very easy to say but try not to annalyse your body too much. If you are watching for any little ache or pain then you can convince yourself of anything. You may be pregnant but if the test says not then that's probably the case. You should see what happens over the next few days and if there's still no sign of your period test again. From my own personal experience, I find that if my period is a bit late then I tend to get what I call 'pressure headaches' because that's what it feels like, everyday until it appears.

If you aren't expecting AF for about another week, then it's possible you tested too early. I would wait until your expected period. If it doesn't come, take another test. Although many hpt's claim you can test up to 5 days early, if you read the fine print the accuracy rate goes down the earlier you test before your expected period. Hpt's can give false negatives simply because your body hasn't produced enough of the hcg hormone yet for the test to detect. I've found it's always best to wait until you've missed your period to do one. Good luck!

Maybe you did test too early, I do not reccommed the First Response test because it seems to not be sensitive enough. I suggest the Clearblue Easy digital test. To be sure I would call and have an order sent to the lab and your local clinic to get a serum HCG done. The dr will do this to confirm even if you took an at home test. Good luck

everyones results change on those at home pregnancy tests. If you are afraid the test is wrong either try again in a week or so, or you can make an appointment with your dr. and they can run a simple blood test.

Good luck!

You tested too early. Today is just cycle day 27. Test when you're late- it's just too soon to tell.

Good luck!

yeah it sounds like you did... listen to the women on here and go test cause it might be that your pregnant... on the other hand you might not be cause you need to ovulate in order to get pregnant and most women who aren't regular don't ovulate. its an up and down situation if you want go to a doctor and see cause those tests at home get expensive and if you go to a clinic its cheaper! cause its free. good luck and keep us informed!

I would make an appointment with your GP. Get an HcG blood test done. Then you will know for sure.
