i went up in a balloon in the US, so i can't help you find a place to ride them. but oh yeah, it was a blast. and it wasn't rough at all it was like, well, floating in a balloon. and when they aren't blowing the burners it's completely silent, and looking down at the earth from way up top...oh it's so awesome. this time of year i would highly reccomend wearing a coat and layers, because you would be amazed at how quickly it cools off as you ascend. if you can afford it, i'd definately go.

I was up on a hot air balloon once. The feeling of being in the air with nothing to hold onto but a basket is scary. When you land, it hits the ground hard and the basket leans. I held on for dear life. I have heard people say they loved it. It all depends on the person.
I had an option of going on the balloon at sunset or sunrise. It cost me about $150 usd for the sunrise setting.
I don't recommend this for people afraid of heights.....

One landed in a field next to my house when I was little. I ran out to it and some man with a weird accent was inside. He let me get in and we flew around town. A teacher from my school was chasing us (apparently hot air balloonist have chasers?) and she gave me a ride home. It was weird.
I agree with the landing part. It is not soft! The sound of the flame is rather loud. I don't remember feeling the heat from it.
