he says he loves me and he asks me why i love him. what do i say?

Your reason should be because you do love him in return. If you have to think of a reason, then you are not in love. Be honest with him and yourself. Tell him you aren't there yet.
If you do love him, tell him the good things about him. I personally love my boyfriend because he treats me with respect, he loves his family and friends, and he isn't afraid to be himself, among many other reasons.
What are the things about him that just make you smile out of the blue? What do you think about when he hugs you? Tell him these things.

If you can not give him a reason that you love him then maybe you think you love him when in reality you don't..
