Whats going on with music these days, this urband stuff is swag, What ever happened to real music from true bands like U2, now we get all these rappers, they are all fakes, they dont even make their own music, ON A COMPUTER!!! In a few years, music will be all computerised, its meant to be about a talent, being able to play an instrument, This rap crap is killing music, and mc and all this, good bands play music and put effort into their music, but rappers get an easy job and so much money, and they are such dopes, with their hot babes and fast cars, Whats going to happen to decent people and great musicians like BONO!!!! Word? I got a word for you homie - suck-out!

I have to agree. Music these days sucks BIG TIME. I got XM radio just so I could not have to deal with all the crap on regular radio. I really enjoy being able to pick out the era of music I like.......so my xm is usually tuned to the 80's or one of the hard rock stations.
Yes, music these days is nothing but being about fast cars, hot women, jewelry and an image. I cant imagine that the "musicians" today work anywhere close to as hard as say Springsteen had it..........
I could rattle on about this for awhile but I better stop.........
I think we are stuck for now......lol

I understand completely! (Well mostly anyways since there are a few rap songs that are good and meaningful, for example, some of Tupac's and Biggie's music.) I can't believe some of the "musicians" that they are calling artists these days! All they do is make up a stupid little dance and then they make a stupid little song that goes with it! Or they make music about their shoes! It sooooo stupid and annoying......and can you believe some of the people that they are recording nowadays? Did you know that Paris Hilton is now a recording artist! And Kevin Federline! Now the last time I checked, they have no musical talent whatsoever....they are just people who were caught up in the celebrity life through scandals....! I could go on forever about this but I'll stop here......

What do you care what other people like? Yeah, I think most rap sucks and is mostly souless, selfish and full of s***, but how would you feel if EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE loved U2. You'd simply be a mindless drone who liked the same thing as everyone else.
You asked where the great musicians are? Well, that's what makes them great. They're special. They're rare. They always have been.

There's still good music out there, unfortunately most of the music that goes mainstream is crap, so you have to look a little harder for it. If you check out local scenes you can find oodles of hidden talent. Otherwise sites like myspace.com can help you find good bands that haven't sold out. If you know the general type of music you're looking for, try pandora.com, it'll recommend similar artists and a lot of them are underground.

I love older music, there a few new bands, selective to which ones. but LYNYRD SKYNYRD is my fav and one of the reasons is Ronnie Van Zant's own promise to himself was to never make music with synth, he wanted only songs that could be repoduced in full by the musicians own tallent while on stage with just their instrument.

I agree a lot of music is terrible these days. It's not even music. But some rap is good ...remember 'gonna make you sweat' by c+c music factory ...what a great track.
The stuff I don't like is all this tuneless britpop ...produced by good looking but talentless idiots who want to make a fast buck.
