Oh, it's not just BS, it's a National Intelligence Estimate, the consensus opinion of 16 spy agencies. The conclusion agrees with common sense and the scant footage we see of Iraq anarchy.

First, it sounds like a selective leak by people who are not friends of the administration. The leak is political in nature and is not necessarily the whole truth. One should always be wary of these types of partial truths.
Second, it bothers me that classified info like this is leaked. After all the hue and cry over the non-issue Plame leak, where is the Dem hue and cry over all these partisan info leaks that actually harm our national security efforts? There's a crime being committed here, folks.
Third, I find it misleading because terrorist ranks have been building up for decades. After each attack on Israel and the US, after Gulf War 1 and subsequent attacks on US troops in the Middle East. After the WTC bombing in 1993 and the US embassy bombings in Africa. How does one determine what the levels of growth would have been if we hadn't gone into Iraq? To me this assessment is reaching unsupported conclusions - are these politically motivated conclusions?
As for threats, why would anybody think the threat would not have grown anyway? I would bet dollars to donuts that the ranks swelled after 9/11. They would have swelled again after the invasion of Afghanistan. So, how do they make the determination that the threat was made worse by Iraq? How do they prove this? It seems inherently unprovable to me.
Anybody care to use rational reasoning and logic to explain how you can determine the indeterminable?

Well let's see now. A leaked intelligence document, a paper with an obvious bias against the administration, and undisclosed sources. The validity is in question. Now as for the content, it's certainly possible, but I would submit that people who embrace terrorism as a way of life are predisposed to either a certain type of thinking, or to coercion by others. Either way it doesn't matter. I for one would rather have these people out in the open now where we can engage them in the Middle East, rather than hiding in plain sight until they can attack us here at home. It is unfortunate that so many people cannot see past their hatred of the administration to see the real threat posed by terrorists.

Ah, O.K. do you watch the news daily and see the record number of attacks going on right now in Iraq? People are being slaughtered, maimed, kidnapped and blown up. What do you think? It's not a leak to me. It's the truth and it's about time someone in this administration told it like it REALLY is.

First of all the only people saying the NIE reports terrorism is worse becasue of the War in Iraq oppose that War.
Those who've seen the entire document say news reports are wrong.
Secondly, I assume that fighting terrorist will not make them happy about our fighting, so what else is new?
Did the Nazis appauld the US/UK/Canada landings on D-Day?
Victory or defeat will be the measure of the policy, not second-guessing

S. defense force are accessible besides. They have been informed to bypass-- they WENT. they choose our love and help no rely what, because of the fact they have not got the luxurious of sitting right here debating regardless of if we could continuously or should not be in Iraq.

its true --- iraq is the battle cry of all the terrorists - their inspiration. The U.S has still not crushed the insurgency and NEVER will. Its just the truth. Afghanistan has worsened in the last year - all over the world islamists have answered the call to arms because they know how costly the war is on the us economy and on lives

First of all, it is hard to tell because we don't have the full document. It was suppose to be classified. But I do believe the overall threat has increased (duh!)--and I do think that those who are leaking classified documents need to be shot for treason.

Yes, more terrorists are being created, because none of the government or CIA responsible for the terrorism of 9/11 have yet been brought to justice, but they have alienated so many others who were previously peaceful, that more terrorism occurs.
One very significant point is the depleted uranium in Iraq.
The radiation from the DU shells is causing so much pain and anguish to Iraqis that many of them know they are doomed to die from the cancers thy have caught from the radiation.
So, in order to get rid of the pain, they don't mind killing themselves, and may as well take some of those whom they see responsible with them.
This is why there are so many suicide bombers - because so many people are affected by radiation from the DU weapons, including American soldiers.

Depleted Uranium - Far Worse Than 9/11
For hundreds of years to come, the effects of the uranium will continue to wreak ... "American forces admit to using over 300 tons of DU weapons in 1991. ...

I think u already know the answer to that. When foreign people enter a country and they over stay their welcome, the natives think what were they really here for? Not only have they taken over they're torturing us too. Muslims around the world are frustrated, that nothing is being done, not only in Iraq but, palestine, kashmir, chechnya (and others) and a minority is turning to terrorism. Although terribly wrong, Its the only way anybody listens to them.
