I don't understand it. For instance, if a trans woman had had sexual reassignment surgery, and facial feminisation surgery, but told people she'd been raised a boy a lot of people would distance themselves even if they were good friends before.
Why? Why does gender change make people so uncomfortable? Why do trans women and men that 'pass' impeccably still get treated as "a transexual" instead of the man or woman they are inside?

Just as an addition; no I am not transexual. My girlfriend is. She's also not a "tranny", as we both find the word highly offensive.
