It's not unusual, especially in the first 2 years after your first period, to skip periods or to have an irregular menstrual cycle. Illness, rapid weight change, or stress can also make things more unpredictable because the part of the brain that regulates periods is influenced by stuff like this.

Some girls always have irregular periods; others get theirs every 28 days like clockwork. Many are regular most of the time, but occasionally skip a period or get an extra period during times of pressure or stress....

Periods, when they first start can be irregular for months or even years. It will come. Mine are still a little erratic, usually a few days out each month. Some women are blessed with clockwork periods, but some aren't. Mine didn't really settle down until after high school.

During the first two or three years after you start your period, it's often irregular. You may not have your period for awhile, and then it could come back. It's all natural, nothing to worry about

It is completely normal. I have never had a "regular" cycle. Some months I start on the same day, others I am days even up to a week early or late.

hey- don't worry about it too much, during the first year your period will not necessarily come at the same time it came last month....try not to fret. :) I don't know all the exact reasons but I asked that same question when i started too. After about a year you should be able to tell when it comes in the month- but it changes alot in the first year.

when you first start your period it takes time for them to become regular. In some women they never do. some cycles can be anything from 26 to 40 days. Don't worry about it.

This is normal. All girls are irregular at first. You will be for about a year. You might not get one for like 6 months maybe.
