Germany wanted to take over Europe. They rolled into Belgium in order to attack france from the East. They knew that Russia would take a long time to mobilize their army so they ignored them early on. Britain was loosely allied with France but realized that if Hitler sacked Paris, it was only a matter of time before he tried to invade Britain. German U boats sank some US merchant ships which pissed us off. Then Japan allied with Germany and bombed Pearl Harbor because we cut off their steel supply. Then we entered the war and liberated Europe for all of those countries that hate us. They can suck my Red, White and Blue toe.

Russia was invaded by the Nazis so was fighting to defend itself.
Poland ditto
Britain fought because it had guarenteed the independence of Poland and feared German domination of Eastern Europe
France ditto
America joined the war because Japan attacked it- then Germany declared war and so America fought the rest of the axis as well
In the end it was as Stalin said- American money, British endurance and Russian blood which won it.
