My one month old little girl will only sleep in an inclined position and therefore is spending a lot of time in a swing or bouncy seat. I was wondering if any of you have used a crib wedge and what you think of them. Are there some that are better than others?

The ones I have seen that seem good are the kind that youput under the crib sheet so it stays put and the baby can't get caught under it.

I used one for my son when he was very little and caught a cold. It is better than sitting in a swing or bouncer because in those the back is not supported and is allowed to curve, which is not good for posture in the long-run. If you get a wedge you migh try one like I had which had smaller velcro wedges that you could use to keep baby on her side or from rolling down to the end of the wedge and ending up in an awkward position. I am sorry I do not remember the name of the brand, but if you check Toys R Us, or Babies R Us, they usually have an extensive infant selection. There are also many different 'Baby Warehouses; or Baby Outlets that would stock a decent selection.
Whichever store you go to, just be sure to get ones that is washable or has a washable cover. One thing about babies, 'neat & clean' is not something that comes natural to them.

A crib wedge is a very good thing. Get the one that goes under the actual mattress. My son had one when he was a newborn cause he had to sleep at an angle or he couldn't breath. It was great.

I would be careful about putting anything like that in the crib due to the SIDS risk. I like the idea of propping up the mattress instead!

Ask your pediatrician about them because they're forever coming up with new warnings about using them. For the longest time they only recommended using them with baby laying on his/her back, then when my kids were babies they always said to lay them on they're side, which is what I always did and everything was always fine. Those wedges are pretty good when used properly, but please ask your pediatrician for his/her advise on how to use them first to be safe about it. Don't put something under the whole mattress like someone said, that is SO dangerous!!!! They can get caught under that and suffocate!!!!

Just place something under the entire crib mattress on one end and the whole bed becomes a wedge. Its a simple and cheap way.

I bought one of these for my son and when he was using it he would keep falling over on. It didn't even help with his heartburn(acid reflux). My son preferred the bouncy seat or swing at this age.

I used a wedge, they work great. But keep in mind your little girl must strech out to sleep some times (I know that sounds imposible!) to keep her blood flowing to her legs! Good luck!

I didn't use one because I read so many bad things about them, but my son was just like your daughter...he slept in his carseat..lol
Here are some sites about them:

http://www.babycenter.com/comments/baby/babysleep/1165659?i=120
You can decide if this is something you want to use, everybody has a different opinion. Good Luck!
