yoga stretches and a huge exercise ball. The exercise ball takes off a TREMENDOUS amount of pressure when you just sit on it. I used mine to rock back and forth....very soothing for me and baby!

To induce labor: spicy food and sex. Nipple stimulation will also produce "pitocin" in your body....the drug used in labor induction.

Congratulations. That is a fantastic sign that things will be happening soon. There are a few things that may induce labor naturally if you are ready. Sit backwards on a toilet and do some nipple stimulation. Roll the ball of your nipple between your fingers. You have to do it for a good half hour to an hour and then give your body a break. You may get some good contractions with it that will stop when you stop. Being on the toilet will not relieve pressure and in fact will probably increase it, but it is great for opening the pelvis and allowing baby to drop down.
I would also have a warm bath to loosen ligaments. I would put some oil on your belly and give your belly a good downward massage. I would say to have sex if you can and do some lunges where you put your leg on a stair, higher than your hips. Lean into it and then alternate with the other leg. That puts nice even pressure on all areas of the cervix. If the pressure is really bad, go into a knee chest position. Chest to the floor, bum in the air to take some of the pressure off for awhile. Remember, all of the induction techniques in the world will only work if you are ready to go. In the meantime, it is good prep for your body.
Congrats!

well, walking will definitely help induce labor. I've heard of quite a few women who take caster oil to go into labor, however I would NOT recommend that. to relieve pressure you might want to try lying down on your left side with a pillow between your legs. If you are having contractions going to the doctor would be your best bet. If this is your first child you don't know exactly how your body will react to labor and delivery. If you have had children you should know how your body will react. It is always best to call a friend or a family member to come over while you're going through this just in case you need some help and support. God Luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!

the only way to relieve pressure?? is by having the baby

Mine was so painful i told my Doctor about it and that the baby was not moving as much .... so he sent me to labor and delivery right away to get checked

when they checked my ultrasound they said the water was a little bit low and they would rather me have the baby then wait to see it it went down further....

they gave me pitocin to induce labor and an epidural, baby came in 3 hours

tell the Doctor this and see if they do the same for you email me later

I think i was 39 weeks

good luck

Ask your midwife or dr to strip your membranes. They slide their finger around the inside of the cervix to loosen the membrane from the cervix. This releases hormones that can trigger labor onset. BUt it doesn't always work. The pressure is awful, though. I was 3cm dilated and 100% effaced for THREE F***ING WEEKS with my son. I felt like he was just going to plop right out every time I stood up. The midwife stripped my 'branes 2x and nothing happened... She said I was an oddity, though. I was on bedrest for 2 wks for contractions at 34 wks, and then didn't give birth for another month.

Hi, Congrats on your pregnancy!

I am 38 weeks and 4 days and is so ready to have this baby, and i read that sperm softens the cervix, and female orgasm and nipple stimulation triggers labor, so you know what i am gonna be doing alot of...lol sorry, but this is true.

With being in the same situation I have found a hot bath works well for temporary relief of discomfort and pain. As for how to naturally inducing... let me know if you find something that works! I've tried, walks, jumping jacks, walking stairs, etc....

I'd spend lots of time laying down and just wait for the contractions to start. It could be a few more days, but maybe not since you're so close to your due date. Good luck!
