These are the Ents. Talking Trees I can handle, Dryads moving from tree to tree I can accept, but trees getting up and fighting battles, is just too silly?

Yes it is. A planet full of hobbits, orks, elves and god knows what else is perfectly reasonable. Walking trees just went too far. Damn you Tolkein.

Actually, Ents appear in the Lord of the Rings books which are FANTASY!

Tolkien was the guy that wrote them and as far as I am aware he didn't have any walking trees in him!

No, it was not silly at all. It fit with the stories. Considering it was a world a of hobbits, dragons, elves and wizards, walking trees....its just natural!

All Tolkien fans will take out a fatua (forgive mispelling) on you after asking that question. Me - I fully agree with you. The effects in the films were great but I think they got in the way of a good story
