maybe i shouldn't be answering this because i'm white, but i've always heard from my black friends that they are ok with just black. it's not condecending if you don't use it that way! i had a girlfriend who said she didn't like being called african-american because she was born here and has never even been to africa!
like i said i'm white, so i don't know for sure what everyone prefers... mine is only experience.

Did you actually write *** and colored? If you think that should have been added to the list, then maybe you should have asked the question to know the answer.

Honey, no one knows. I've posed this question myself. Each person of color is different in their responses. I just go with black to be on the safe side. Some get offended, some don't.

I think it is african american. The other ones are offensive unless you are understand which they like to be called.
