For a girl to get her peiod and not even really know...like, for it to be brown colored..My niece is starting to worry, and is embarressed to ask her mom..should i just tell her to tell her own mom. But i think her mom really needs to know? Help with both questions, please.

yes, this sounds to me like a period, alot of girls dont no they have had their 1st one, and often it does not look red, but brown, how ever if she is or has been sexually active then id advice being checked out, as it can also mean other things

Yes sometimes it is brown so the girl may not know it. Also go ahead and tell her mom, she needs to know.

So you know and her mom doesn't? Does she know? If she does then I would ask her permisson to tell her mom and if she says you can then tell her and ask her to talk to her daughter. I would like to know if I were her mom... I think that her mom should know.

Yes it can. Encourage her to tell her mom. I mean, her mom went through it too once, so she will understand.

She went to you for a reason. Just calmly explain what is happening. If she doesn't want her mother to know yet .. then why force it ? She is more comfortable talking with you about it .. so please do so. Good Luck ! :)
