Ok, I first got the mini which is now discontinued. I replaced it (simply because I wanted a new one- it didn't break or anything) with the 30 G Video. I cannot tell you how much stuff it holds! I have 3,000 songs, a ton of short videos (I found some to download off the web too so not all my money goes to iTunes), and now iTunes sells TV shows and Movies. I think mine holds 7500 songs or something.

I wouldn't get a nano if you have alot of music or want the video features. For an extra $100 you can get the 30G. They also made an 80G for $349, but even I don't need that much space.

There is no universal best iPod. It depends on how muchmusic you want to put on it and if you think you will ever use the video function. The new Nanos are great (aluminum case to decrease scratches full color display and up to 2000 songs in a small design) but if you are looking to put a larger music collection and/or videos then look at the new iPod Video. It depends on what you are looking for.

I will just give you my opinion. I bought the 60GB video iPod in February of this year and have been extremely pleased with it. I have TONS of music on it, as well as my calendar (from Microsoft Outlook) and address book (also from Outlook). Plus, I have pictures stored on it in different photo albums. I also have a movie (Under the Tuscan Sun) for plane rides and long trips, as well as about 50 music videos. Also, I have stored Word documents on there, including all of the poetry that I write. I love it. I have a hard plastic case for it made my Agent 18. It is a wonderful clear case that protects my iPod from scratches but I can still see the engraving on the back. I have a Ben Sherman protective case that I keep the iPod, earbuds and USB cable in for travel. I have an "InCase" case for when I am exercising that I clip onto my shorts. It's wonderful. I have no complaints about my iPod whatsoever.

it depends on what you want to do with it. the video ipod is the newest and has the most features. it is also more expensive and bigger. if your not interested in the videos, get the ipod nano. it's the most recent besides the video ipod and you can store music, photos and ms word documents on it. if your wondering about storage there is one that holds 500 songs and another that holds 1000. personally i don't think that the extra $50 is worth the 1000 songs because realistically you won't listen to them all. I don't listen to half of the 350 i have on mine right now.

It really does depend on how you intend to use it. I have my entire library - close to 4000 songs - on mine, so a Nano wouldn't work for me (and I DO listen to all of them through a smart playlist I've set up to do just that). If you have less than 1000 songs and no interest in video, you should definitely go for the Nano since it's smaller and cheaper. If you want the ability to watch video on a tiny screen, then you'll have to get the Video.

Well, it depends on what you like to do with it. If you just want songs and photos, the iPod nano is for you. But if you want to watch tv, movies, play games, listen to music, and view photos, you should get the video. It's all up to you.

check out apple.com. I would recomend the IPod Video or the new Nano, but I do not know how much memory you want or if you want video playback.

Simple and to the point:

I-pod nanos hold plenty of songs, who needs more than 1,000 songs on their i-pod at one time?

I-pod video plays videos on an extremely small screen!

If you don't want eye twitches and seizures, don't get the video!

Go with nano!
