i just blew my old power supply and i need a new one. if some 1 knows a phone # where i could call dell and ask about a new power supply or a website where dell power supplies are sold in the u.k i would really appreciate it. the dell website doesnt sell power supplys.

You can get one at any computer store.

It doesnt have to be a Dell.

Just take the old one out and take it with you. That way you'll get one to directly replace the one you had. i.e. the same physical size.
The critical thing it to get one of at least the same power as the one you have now. e.g. 300 watts

You don't need "Dell" specifically. Power supplies are interchangeable. Just get one that has at least the same output and physically fits into your computer (there are only a couple of standard sizes.) I don't know about the UK, but Antec makes some of the best power supplies here in the US.

Dell doesn't make power supplies and they aren't proprietary, you can get a power supply not provided from Dell and save a ton of money. More than likely you need a ATX power supply 400 or 450 watts

Unless you want to try a used one, you probably will have to purchase it from Dell. Computer companies usually have the cableing specially made so that a particularly designed computer will be cheaper to assemble. From what I have heard, generic power supplies are not compatable except with generic computers.
