Guy I work with is having a rough time. Our boss hates him and makes his life miserable. He's working 3 jobs. Divorced earlier this year. Wife cheated on him. Her kids are making his life miserable. High debts. His ex won't leave him alone. Chases him down at work and hassles him. Guys losing weight, looks very sad and depressed. We all feel very bad for him, but we have no clue what would help. Any ideas?

If he is someone you like and truly want to help let him know he can speak to you and you promise to listen. Sometimes listening is all someone needs to vent their frustrations. Sometimes though maybe he just needs "guy time" find out what he likes and maybe just being included in others "reindeer games" is all it takes. If he's working three jobs he is probably exhausted - I feel bad for him too. Good luck.:)

Well I know that the factors he's dealing with can't be helped by just the guy you work with, he needs help by good minded people who can give him motivation. Constant pressure, especially the volume he's carrying only makes a knife or the temtation to jump more appealing. he should start by writing everything down. one problem at a time, starting with if he needs 3 jobs, then get a financial professional to helphim out of the hole. I am going to assume he still has some fight in em'. So he needs to put up his dukes!!! Good luck and Prosperity. And god bless

Wow this guy seems to be going thru the ringer...I would probably just tell him, "Look, I'm really sorry that you're having such a rough time right now...any time you need someone to listen, I'm/we're here." And maybe invite him out (as a group, not a date!) to go bowling or something else fun that he likes to do. Get an encouraging card and have everyone sign it and give it to him...invite him to church, if you attend church...just some ideas. :) Hope this helps!

P.S.--Ignore the a**hole who gave the first answer!

Take him out for a full weekend of nothing but fun. Pool with your friends so he doesn't have to worry about paying, and treat him to every fun and distracting thing you can think of, and DON'T bring up the troubles in his life. Take lots of pictures and put together a scrapbook when you get home, so he can look back at all the fun and happy memories. Keep adding to the scrapbook every chance you get.
