8a^2+a-9-6-a^2
7a^2+a-9-6 (combine a^2's)
7a^2 +a-15 (combine -9 and -6)
And that's it! You can't simplify it any more than that.

Combine like terms:

8a2 from the first equation -a2 from the second equation= 7a2
-9 from the first and -6 from the second = -15
The a remain from the first equation, which leaves you with:

7a2+a-15
