My mom turns 59 in 2 weeks..... single woman, likes the outdoors, camping & stuff like that.....what should I get her for her birthday....

We usually take her out for dinner, but that is getting old........

Spend time with her. If she likes camping, go camping with her. I wish I had spent more time with my mom. That would be a gift for both of you.

You know what would be cool? All of you take her for a picnic in the park. That way the tradition is still kind of there, where you're able to have a meal with her, but it's not the same old, same old. And if she likes the outdoors, how about some new tennis shoes so she will be comfortable when she explores?

If she likes camping get her some cast Iron skillets or pots and pans. You can use those inside or out...I think at her age. I would ask her. I ask my parents what they would like every year. Then I take them out to dinner or lunch. Sometimes I just take them shopping. Spending time with her would mean alot. You and her could make a day of it.

You did not say how much you plan to spend...
I would get her something she can use on her outdoor trips or camping trips. There are so many things you need and want to make those more comfortable and fun.

Get her a gift card to L.L. Bean or EMS Mountain Sports or somewhere like that so she can pick out what she wants. Also, take her to dinner or a show.

A bouquet of flowers is nice. But it would be even nicer to do something WITH her. Take her to a special concert, maybe a play or something else she enjoys. Buying her a store bought gift is just cash, but if you do something with her, it's your time and that's even more precious. Especially to a Mom.

I would say dancing lessons. Both of you can enjoy learning it together and I'm sure she would love to spend the extra time with you. Then take her out dancing when you two are done with the classes

Gift cards are always nice to give someone when you don't know what to get her, or maybe you get her a mothers ring or mother necklace with your birthstone in it and your siblings if you have them.
