I think Hunter is a great unique name for a boy. I know how you feel, if my sister and I would have turned out as boys, my dad wanted us to be called "Guy." Seriously he really loved that name. At least it's the middle name and not the first! Best of luck--also look at names together on a baby name site and see if you find one you both agree on.

It's a unisex name, but it's not goofy.
Tell your husband you will let him have Hunter as a middle name and you choose the name of his male relative you most admire for the boy's first name.
In the South, a lot of men are called by their middle names. Give him a nickname you use only within the family, and at about age 4 let him choose between his first and middle names for how he wants to be addressed at school.

Its up to you does it go with your surname? think of calling him in for tea do you think it sounds right ?or maybe wait until he is born and sometimes a name comes to you from nowhere because he may not look like a hunter have your family done family tree?sometimes there are some lovely different names if you go back far enough you may find a nice name there.think of when hes grown up will the name sound good then. hope this helped, good luck.

i dont like the name hunter, I think you and ur husband should come up with a name that u both like, and yes ur kid will get picked in school for having the name hunter. Kids now theses days are very mean and rude. You dont want to see your baby hurt because of a name. Try to pick a name that u both like

I love the name Hunter as a first name for a little boy. I think its absolutely adorable and dont think your child would be teased for that name.

I agree with you on this one. It sounds like a good name for a dog not a child. He may or may not get teased at school as there are so many strange names around at the moment that it won't be that unusual.
Good Luck!

My son knows several Hunters. I have never known any of them to be teased because of it. I like the name.

Also know a Dagger, a Blade and several Gunners and I have never heard them made fun either.
