during the time before and during my period i have severely painful cramps to where i feel nauses, i feel depressed, fatigued, irritable, unable to concentrate, and bloated. The depression during this time is alomost to much should i talk to my docotr about a antidepressant or because this caused by imbalanced hormones do another hormone therapy. I am currently taking birth control to help the symptomes but i dont know if that is enough. My doctor doesnt want to perform a laproscopy at this time she wants to try less invasive techniques first. Any other suggestion would be great.

Hello-
Vitamins that have helped me a lot with PMS: B6, and calcium magnesium-the Cal/mag is also very important for women on the pill-many people do not know this.... Also, I suffered a lot with pms, and severe cramps, fatigue, sadness , etc. I had the Laporschopic(sp?) surgery, and they removed ovarian cysts, and determined I had endometriosis. I felt tremendous relief from cramps post operation, and still do. One warning to you, after surgery-on my Dr.'s advice , I was on the pill for about 4 years, but I finally, very recently went off the pill, as it was causing me to feel depressed on an almost daily basis, some women have the more rare side, like myself. So, being on the pill, may not be helping your pms depression, you may want to talk to your Dr. about it ?

I'm referencing a website here - I'll share the source. But to just paraphrase the findings:

-Ultra OPC or Iso OPC – oligomeric proanthocyanodins – assists with microcirculation to the reproductive organs. 125 mg./day

-Deep sea fish oil (make sure the mercury content has been checked by a reputable manufacturer) – 1200 mg./day

-A supplement with spirulina ~ up to 5 g./day. Contains compounds like phycocyanin, polysaccharides and sulfolipids that enhance the immune system’s functioning

The author of the writing (Randine Lewis) also suggests general dietary guidelines, such as eating organic fruits & vegetables as well as limiting animal protein.

Good luck! Hope this helps!

Take a tablespoon of evening primrose oil daily. You can get it from a natural foods store. It is excellent with the female system.
