Let your imagination rule. If it's a wool scarf, wrap it around your neck a few times and tuck the ends. Or wrap it once around your neck, then tie it tightly (Chicago style).
If it's a silk/satin scarf then use it as a lovely wrap for your hair or neck (of course).
Or what's even more fun is if you attach an old watchface that you absolutely loved, and give it a new life by sewing it or hotgluing NEATLY to the scarf. Tie it tightly around your wrist and you've got a new, funky mod watch.

They had a photo of one for supporting breast cancer one time. You can wear them so many ways depending on what kind it is.
Like the woman before me a belt
A hairband
around your neck loose
tied arond your neck
tied aroung your hat
tied around your purse strap
over your hair.
Look in the magazines it is really limitless depending on how long or wide the scrarf is. If you are really tiny and the scarf is big you can wear it as a top or swim suit cover up. Experiment
we are assuming this is a silk scarf

well usually around the neck.. but depending on where you live you can do all kinds of things with it. i live in florida and my great grandparents live in new york. we go visit them once or maybe twice every year. every other year they give me a scarf for Christmas. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! so one day it was pretty cold but not like up north cold. i wrapped it up really tight and put it my hair. everyone loved it! i've also worn it like a belt and it looked really cute!

You can wear as a belt as I am right now, you can wear it in your hair, or if its cold outside you can wear it around your neck or you can drap it around your shoulders.
