Sounds like you need to do a couple of things:

1. Get into the habit of washing your face TWICE A DAY (morning and night) with a gentle cleanser.

2. Use an exfoliating cleanser TWICE A WEEK. This will help lift off dead skin cells that aren't sloughing off by themselves and will help "release" any clogged dirt (aka blackheads).

ProActiv is a definitely a great system and worth the money. However, you may want to try other over the counter cleansers first if money is an issue.

You want to start eating better... I know, I know... sweets and fats are just so tasty, but they are not healthy and it shows - on your face. Also, get a good cleanser and use it daily. There are many products to choose from... Sex can also help you out... maybe you are stressed out... I've heard that putting toothpaste on them can reduce the swelling (but I've never tried that) You could always seek out a dermatologist, but whatever your choice... good luck with that.

Change your diet, keep your hands away from your face, wash it as often as you can with a mild face cleanser and a light astringent, which hazel is the best.
