Does anyone know about how to become a Professional Buyer? Is there training involved, or must you go to school for it?

I think it mostly comes down to on the job training. You probably want some retail background, especially customer service. As the other answerer pointed out, if you're wanting to work in clothes, then get a start in clothes.

I've noticed that many large or upscale malls and even some individual stores/chains offer personal shopping. You can inquire with the concierge or HR with these companies to get some idea of what kind of background they require for your desired position.

It depends on what you are talking about. If you are talking about clothes then you may want to work in a store that sells fashions and work your way up. Now if you go to school you can walk into a job as a buyer.
