I searched and I searched but to no avail. Do you know where I can find an on-line copy of Major League Baseballs Record Book? One that would include all Batting, Pitching, Single Game, Single Season, Career, Post-Season, and World Series records?

The best sites I have found on line are from www.baseball-reference.com or mlb.com--they have many records listed but not in an orderly style--you have to do a lot of searching for each record.

The Sporting News publishes an updated Complete Baseball Record Book every year, but does not have an on-line copy--they want you to buy the book. The book itself is very well made--all regular season, post-season and All-star game records plus each team's records in different categories. The 2006 edition costs $17.95 not including shipping, but perhaps you should wait a few months until the 2007 edition will come out with this year's records included.

Try one of these two sites: www.baseballprospectus.com or www.baseballthinkfactory.org These to sites are the baseball prospectus, and the baseball primer. These are what I use for stats, but not completely sure about on-line record books.

Also try baseball-almanac.com. Very good reference site with data up through the 2005 season (they'll probably update it within the next few weeks to include 2006 stats, etc.).

Try looking at Guiness book of world records. I dont know if they do or not anymore, but they used to carry all the records for professional sports.

The InfoPlease almanac has some statistics, but only as far back as 1997

http://www.infoplease.com/ipsa/A0112025.html

The MLB site has some "historical" stats
Go to:http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/stats/index.jsp
Then put your mouse over "Stats" and go to "Historical"
