A THEME PARTY!!! Chaperones could be enlisted to help and It makes knowing what to get easier! Vampires, werewolves, or even a program/movie like the "Adams family" makes it fun for the kids to choose a theme ...
CHEAPEST***If you have a ZOMBIE MUMMY/BRIDE OF THE MUMMY party you can let the kids decorate by toiletpapering the den or livingroom and porch...easy cleanup & cheap.
Make GHOSTS: long/tall white trash bags (box $1.00) ballons (bag $2.00) (or stuff a corner of the trash bag with a bunch of walmart plastic bags) rubberband it, then you can run the scissors up the bottom half of the bag with scissors to make it look ghostly. Hang from the ceiling with string & tape so the kids have to walk through the ghosts. They look cool in trees too. No need to draw eyes or anything, they work better plain and don't look cheesy.
For a vampire party... get boxes behind walmart and spraypaint ($2.00) them black. STACK them two or three together and draw ( my kids or their friends do that part) the shape of a casket & R.I.P on it ( or whatever) in chalk ($ 1.00) and stand it in a corner of the room or porch... even more than one towering casket would be easy and cheap.
Cut headstones from cardboard ( or drawing the headstone shape works too) and spraypaint black. Use chalk to write on them. They wont look bad leaned around the walls/porch (let the kids put a silly one in the bathroom) and you can also make one for each teen, hand them chalk and let them amuse themselves and their friends with their personalized headstone. (I wouldn't cut them if I wanted 50. Just let them draw a headstone...They WILL amuse themselves with this one)
Home made box cake mixes are under $1.00 and you can make cupcakes or cake.I don't recommend candy for 50 kids...you will find wrappers till Xmas.
Walmart also has .50 cents 2 liters and I get coke, rootbeer, and the fake dr pepper for floats...a scoop of vanilla in big plastic cups....then they don't care it's not brand! Plus you can't sneak booze in a float cuz it will taste nasty. So if someone (hope not..but teens? Not to offend.) does they won't drink much of it.
Cheap corn chips and salsa and walmart brand veleeta makes good microwave nachos. I wouldn't fool with toppings...cheese nachos are fine.Just combine salsa and cheese and nuke a min at a time till soft or serve them seperately.
CheapCheap Large cheese pizza and walmart brand Turkey-ham (cubed), pepperonni, pinapple, or even bacon bits so they can do their own pizza's. I don't add extra cheese and they like making personal ones (your kids can help not the 50). Some pizza places offer discounts on large party orders if you talk to them in advance...a manager...KFC caters too but $$. Pizza made ahead can be nuked on a paper plate later.
Thats all I got...Good luck and have fun!

Make your own chocote cupcakes, buy some mallowcreme candies to put on top if you are not adept at cake decorating. Stick to chips and dip buy the chips at the discount store, make your own dip. California dip, melted generic velveta with part of a jar of salsa stirred in, [kept warm in a chafing or fondue pot, sala and taco chips.veggie dip[buy Knorr vegetable soup mix and stir into sour cream ,check their website] and lots of veggies. If budget allows, teens love grab bags. Some halloween candy, and a few trinkets from the party store should do it. The craft store has bundles of brown paper gift bags for cheap, decorate them yourself, or buy stickers . For a cheaper idea, buy those little trick or treat bags, they hold 6 or 7 peices of candy, you get like 80 sacks for a buck. Walmart and walgreens have them, just saw them there. Some bowls of wrapped candy to set around would be nice.
If you are serving a meal, sloppy joes, the sauce purchased at the discount grocery works, tator tots or chips to go with it. Cheap and they will probably like it. For drinks, serve soda, watch the sales, Walgreens just had one.Might offer some punch or apple juice or cider.as an alternative.
Good luck to you, you will need it with a house full of teenagers.

With 50 guests, it wont be that cheap. You have to feed them and that's going to cost money. For decorations, just string black and orange streamers and lots of those fake spider webs all over the place. Keep the lights low and light candles too.
For food you can do a deli spread so people can make their own sandwiches OR you can just do snack foods and soda. Put out several bowls of Pretzels, chips and popcorn. Go to Costco or a similar place to get the snacks in BIG bags.

You can get Halloween decorations pretty cheap at Wal_Mart. I think those plastic spiders and things come in bags of 50 for $1.00. As for food, I'd go with popcorn, peanuts, chips, cupcakes, maybe some finger sandwiches. It shouldn't cost too much. Buy some Halloween dance tunes, I saw those at Wal-Mart too, then the kids can mingle or dance or whatever.

Those little glow sticks- one prositute will entertain them for the whole night- (hahaha- sorry I just love the images I get when i write that kind of stuff) Make up a scavenger hunt, divide them into teams- water balloon fights, silly string- get door prizes- that will keep them happy- music- have everyone bring a cd they like, with their name on it (or a copy) have a pass the present game for some- but wioth that many, it won't be all that structured without a microphone that's loud.... Walmart is more expensive than the dollar store! dollar store are great! have a costum contest- bob for apples- they will like that- just make sure that nobody drown them.

Try the local discount party store and Walmart for decorations. How about hotdogs, hamburgers, homemade potatoe salad and homemade macaroni salad, and a green salad.

Cheap chips, cheap soda, chip dip (maybe), candy. If you decorate, try cutting things out of magazines instead of paying for decorations. Hot dogs, bannanas, beans, spaghetti?
