assuming the mobo, the ribbon cable and the disk are ok, then the most likely reason is the second IDE controller is disabled in the BIOS.

This is a bit confusing. Most PCs, the HDD come up on IDE 0 and IDE 1.

Your first must check that the HDD is recognized bythe PC BIOS. Do this by entering SETUP while the PC boots. This is usually done by pressing the DEL key during boot. However, it varies from PC to PC.

If the HDD is not recognized, it could be a cable problem or a HDD problem. To verify, change the cable. If that doesn't work, check the HDD in another PC (of possible). Or.....remove the cable from the two HDDs installed. Plug it into the new HDD and check if the BIOS recognizes. If it does, then the problem is in the IDE port on the motherboard. You could also swap cables between the priamry and secondary IDE ports.

You first connect the two hdd to IDE0 making one master and other slave. Then connect the third hdd to IDE1 making it slave. now boot your pc and go to the bios setup by pressing del or F1 depnds on your mother board. Now check whether your hdd is detected by the bios or not. I am sure that BIOS must dect yours all the three hdd.

You might be best to get a RAID card, then it is a matter of stripping them, get someone to help you with this or make sure you read the instructions, or get friend to help you, first find out the main, and then arrange the other to as 1 & 2.

Find it out first whether you can do it on this board sometimes most boards will not take 3 HDD.
