The US has a lot of good things going for it - a powerful economy, some of the greatest minds in the world, and an optimistic outlook.
George Bush has had to work hard, therefore, to make the US so hated that almost 90% of us in the UK want to break the alliance with you.

We are, and have been, one of the leaders in the world in innovation and research in the scientific realm, despite the fact that in the total amount of money we spend in this country, little is actually spent on scientific research, vs. the rewards we've seen from it. In order to continue to grow and prosper as a nation, we must continue to spend money, and more than we do now, on science and encourage our citizens to study science, and provide opportunities for people who choose that field.
Reading the answers above, it amazes me the negativity people exude from a question that was meant to bring out the positives. Guess some people just can't take the political blinders off to look at what makes their country great.

That we are taking a stand in the fight against terrorism. This is something that needed to be done for a long time coming. God bless the souls we lost over the years in all wars and battles. These people go in knowing perfectly clear that battle and War is inevitable. These are the true Americans, Let's ask them what they think? They can tell you that they are proud to be fighting for our country on the behalf of all americans to ensure us a safe and prosperous life. I am most proud of our Soldiers.
