I stopped using birth control pills about 3 months ago. I got my first cycle 1 week early, I got my second cycle 1 1/2 weeks late, and now my third cycle is one week late again! I have been using condoms and have been as careful as can be. My boyfriend ejaculated and got some on his hand, so he washed it off and then fingered me. I saw he has only washed his hands with water and tapped them dry. Could I still be pregnant? I feel like I am PMSing like I always do, but I also know that pregnancy symptoms are almost the same as PMS symptoms. I have ordered some preg. tests online. I just want to know is it normal to have my cycles disturbed after stopping birth control even 3 mos later? (I was on it for almost 2 yrs) Could I be pregnant b/c my boyfriend only washed his hand with water amd lightly tapped it dry bfore fingering me?? I really hope this is all a big scare! I am 21 (and dont want to be pregnant!)

When you first discontinue birth control pills your cycles will not automatically be back to what was normal for you. It sounds as if things just aren't back on their normal cycle as yet. Meantime pregnancy "symptoms" do not occur as immediately as every one on here would like to think. They don't occur until the pregnancy as implanted and the hormone levels have increased to help maintain that pregnancy.

First off, Birth control is a radical thing to do to your hormones...so it takes quite a while for everything to go back to normal after stopping treatment. Secondly...if you do not want to become pregnant, why did you stop taking the birth control to begin with....and lastly, the only true birth control method is not having sex....the "withdrawal" method is the worst becasue it gives you some false confidence that nothing got in there....pre-ejaculatory semen has the same capability of impregnating you then the actual ejaculation. I say, if you don't want to be pregnant, start taking the birth control again...just make sure it is the pill...My sister-in-law died in May from the patch...above all be careful

could be pregnant, but it doesn't sound like you are having any real symptoms of pregnancy other than irregular periods. It is normal to have irregular periods for a while after stopping hormonal birth control, so i would assume it is just because of that. Take the test to be sure though.

I think it's normal to have erratic symptoms for several months, so don't worry about that. As for your getting pregant with a washed off hand, I doubt it. Like the prior answer, you'd do better to just relax and let nature have her way.

BC can really throw your body off. Just calm down until you get the results of the tests.

I think your hormones will still be all over the place. I'd wait on the test but I think you should be okay.
