Within the pets section I think there should be a category specifically for horses/equine. Who's with me?

I'm really tired of searching for horse related questions within the other pets section.

I posted here, it seems to be the most appropriate section to offer suggestions.

I think there should be a seperate catagory for horses as well,
With horses there is so much to learn and so many sub catagories pertaining to horses,( breeds, various styles of riding,
proper care, cost, etc). I have been involved with horses all my life, mostly hunter and jumpers, my family, built and operated an equestrian center in Suffield Ct in 1969 named Fox Run Farm.
We bought trained and sold hunters and jumpers as well as teaching hunt seat and side saddle. We also had a wide variety of different styles of riding with the boarders we had. We were very fortunate, for the 14 years we owned the business we had a wonderful time and I have many wonderful memories. We sold the business in 1982 and I lost touch with most of the people, however I have always tried to keep somewhat involved, by offering advice etc to anyone who asked. That is why I love Yahoo!Answers so much it enables me to keep informed as to whats going, as well as being able to answer questions posted by people.

Yes, I agree there should be one. There are sooo many questions relating to horses. They are as popular as dogs and cats. There is even a fish section, so why not a horse section?!!
Great question!!

Count me in! I don't like having to search either. Horses deserve equal treatment just like dogs and cats. Let the red-eared slider owners or gecko lovers search "other pets" (Nothing against them, but they are not as common as horses.

Absolutely!!!!!! There should be a category to cover "Large Animals". This would include horses, cows, chickens, sheep, goats, pigs and non-pet animals. Calling it "Large Animals" would be the same way vets differentiate between these animals and dogs, cats, hamsters, turtles and "pet" type animals.

Absolutely, I have horses and often check to see if I can find any questions. I hate having to read all the others to find one on horses.

Absolutely! I agree with others' comments: I'm sick of looking through posts like "will my gerbil's eyes fall out if I hold him by the tail?"

And no one is proposing to hold a horse up by the tail, right? :)
