Do you like, dislike, or don't care if someone uses the word "hot" to describe you as physically attractive? Why? (or why not?)

Being called hot is not demeaning. It's just that hot is more of a sexual term. If you use something like beautiful or gorgeous, we know that you really mean that we are attractive, and you're not just saying that to get in our pants.

Personally, I'd like if I got any compliments period because the nicest thing people have to say about me physically is that I have nice hair. And that's girls that say that. I never get compliments from guys. I can't blame them, I mean I'm probably one of the most hideous females to walk the face of the earth. I predict being the crazy cat lady in my near, but distant future.

Rant complete....

But, to answer your question...I think most women would prefer beautiful over hot, but then again humans like compliments and would like myself take it as something good. I would also probably think besides wanting to be called beautiful being called hot has the same affect on women that it does on men. Ask yourself the same question, I guess.

It can be either. If a guy calls an "old fashioned", lady hot, she might get offended. But, if he calls a more "hip" woman of today's times hot, she could take it as a compliment.

The difference: hot could mean "wow, you look like you're a real freak behind closed doors" or simply "you look sooooo good".

So, it depends on who's saying it, who it's being said to, how it's being said and how it's being received!

It depends on who is saying it to me. My fiance, then its ok, my boss, then it is a little creepy. I feel that there is a time and place for the use of the word "hot" to describe a person. At work or in a work type atmosphere is not a good place, at school or a club, then it is ok.

I think being called hot is a compliment, but I have to agree, it depends on how it is said. You know, if the guy is groaning and grabbing himself when he says it....not so much of a compliment then.

Probably the one saying this has more on their mind than just your looks. With that in mind I would say demeaning. Only my opinion.

im going to be blunt

every girl, woman, young ladie loves to be complemented. It sometimes even makes our day, if were going through a pretty crappy one. Calling a woman Hot will still make her smile, if she scowls you .... shes downplaying a complement and showing how stuck up she is.

It's all in how you say it. For example, my pervy ex used to say it all the time and I hated it. When a guyfriend says it to be amicable and flattering, that's much better.
