actually I am a zoology grauduate.. but still i am not been able to help you out.. since I am not able to understand what really you are looking for.

what you mean by Hermit crabs do?
they do all kinds of things.. like humans do.. birth, live reproduction, Death... what more a long list of processes...

They walk, eat. change shells when they grow out of their old one, some live in the ocean, some are land crabs. They pinch with their claws, hide in their shell...
