I have said it before, and will again here for no purpose other than to inform you.
But I like the tortured arguments 'for' as much as 'against'...
They show that how ever complex we are as a race (Humans all) we still have no idea.

So here we have it, in a world where everyone (almost) has a belief, but our laws and systems wouldn't allow it - the question is posed to be relevant to all of your 'Gods', no exclusions.

I would also rather this was not from a personal view but what would be expected from the world as a whole...

Just the standard proof.
Beat him to a pulp, shoot him in the heart, stuff him in a locked and guarded mausoleum and if he makes it to church on Sunday he's all right.

Anybody claiming to be the son of God is not. The prophecy in the Old Testament said those who say they are the Messiah are not. Jesus never said he was the son of God, he refered to God as his Father and refused to deny he was the son of God.

Humans aren't supposed to know for certain about all these things.

With regards to what the world as a whole would require as proof, the world would never be satisfied that a living breathing man is the son of God because far too many people and organisations have a vested interest in making sure he never get's public exposure or support.

Do you really believe George W. Bush (the great christian) would want to risk keeping the son of God alive when he'd just tell the soldiers of the world to cease fire?

If the world hasn't listened for 2,000 years, I don't think they're going to sit up and listen now.

What people would require is what they'll never receive: to be told what they want to hear, that they are the chosen, the most faithful, the most holy.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Proving the existence of god would be the first hurdle, a very imposing one indeed. Would god demonstrate his power and omnipotence....doubtful, at least not for the purposes of answering your question...eg. moving continents, creating a storm at will, etc. etc. Proof as in the existence of complex organisms such as human life, sunsets, butterflies, is not allowable since that reverts back to CAVE MAN logic. Neither is saying 'because the Bible says so' which proves nothing.

But given that one has proven god's existence, the claim of a person as being the son of god cold easily be proven. God's direct admittance of the fact, via carvings etched in stone witnessed by many. In any other claim would be subject to public ridicule and derision.

Performing 'observed' miracles wouldn't prove anything either, since a nephew or niece of god may be able to do the same thing. What makes a son of god special anyway....why not deal with the big man directly rather than thru his son?

According to the Bible, when the Son of God returns there will be no question in anyone's mind who He is. See, the problem is there were countless people who actually met Jesus Christ and saw the miracles He performed and STILL didn't believe that He was the Son of God. Now, I would hate to make the same mistake, and as an imperfect human being I know that I could, but I would still be highly skeptical of anyone claiming to be the resurrected Messiah because the Bible has made it clear that we will all know when Jesus returns.

In todays age, anyone claiming to be the son of God would be locked in the loony bin. People can claim to believe all they want, but really, think about it. Some guy claims today that he is Jesus...who is gonna believe him?

Also, Rose hunny? See a shrink.

The bible states that we are all children of god, therefor if you are a male person - you are the son of God. Live a good life as Jesus showed us to, and you too can walk on water!

When everything is God itself -- sarvam khalvidam brahma, tat tvam asi, aham brahma asmi, the question of being the children of God does not arise nor u require any proof to prove it.

I think creating something out of nothing pretty much does it. Bringing dead things and people to life also. Humans can't do that, and can't even explain the origin of Life, let alone create it. We can't bring new life to paralyzed bodies. We, humans, need something to start with to make something else out of, the raw material. God can do it out of nothing.

Since we have no real proof, other than we're here, that there is a so called God,he could do something totally half-assed.After all that's what his old man did.
