Leaders are under managers. Department leaders lead jsut one section... (i.e. Dept A) Managers over see the leaders of multiple depts (i.e. Dept A,B,C,D) the leaders over see the associates.
Team leaders are a great way to move into management in a short period. Also Leaders are usually hourly, Managers are on Salary.

a manager is someone with that title.

a leader is someone with an ability to lead others....in other words, ppl want to follow that person's lead, whether she has a title or not.
