I don't think there is a required age, it depends on the persons level of responsibility. I waited until I was 13.

no there is no required age that i've heard of... it just depends on the person's maturity/level of responsibility... if a person is mature/responsible enough to take care of their delicate lenses and eyes then they should be able to wear the contacts. the doctor should be able to decided who's eyes are mature enough to have contact lenses in their eyes. i don't think they prescribe contacts for kids, because kids have a rougher lifestyle (playing, etc.) and won't care for the lenses as much as adults.

Depends on ya' eye script, optometrist, profession, too many factors to even begin to mention!!!
Just went with my 23 yr. old son, last week...His specialist still says no to contacts!!!
Reason...Ya' eye script doesn't actually peak till 'bout mid to late 20's. Same reason specialist said no to laser surgery to eliminate glasses.
NOT saying ya' can't wear contacts...Just stating what my son's specialist (That hes been seeing since like 2yrs. young) stated???

not that I know of...I was 14 i think...but I know people who were younger because they were mature and responsible enough to take care of their eyes. Your optician will probably have an age that they allow their patients to be but I dont think that there is a law or anything.

I would say about 12. It depends on the person really and how well they are able to take care of their lenses themselves.
