living in the in-law suite upstairs?
I mean, she can hardly see or hear, but just the fact that she is wandering around the house at all hours is killing the mood for me.

Ya know, the same thing happened to me. Here's what I did. Maybe it will help you. First thing you do is bugger up that electric stair lift. That way she can't sneak up on you. By the time she tumbles down the stairs, you'll hear it and have time to button up. Next put a bell on her back. She won't be able to reach it and can't hear it. But you can. In extreme cases you may want to attach a few bungee cords to her bed and to her ankles. Makes a lot of noise and is really funny to watch her try to leave her room. Hope this helps.

Any distraction can kill the mood!!!! What are you afraid of? That granny will walk in on you???? What does it matter if she can hardly see or hear???? Whose house is it? if it your house, then whats the problem? Is it granny's house? or your parents house?
Try this: make reservations for one nite at a real nice hotel/motel (no sleaze place), make arrangements for them to set up the room up in a romantic setting, candles lit, rose petals scattered on the bed, lighted candles along the bathtub, have a bottle of whatever you both like to drink and two glasses, set next to the tub, have some sensuous finger foods, strawberries dipped in chocolate, etc......
leave your wife a note to meet you at a specific time, give her the address of the hotel/motel (not the name of it) and the room number......that you'll be waiting!!!! Romantic and seductive!!! Guaranteed to cure any problem!

Ok I have had sex in my parent house and they tend to get up at night but all you have to do is block that crap out if you worry about her hearing you just dont be loud
