I would have looked up the telephone number, but not too sure on that number. Shouldn't it be either ++ (44) 020 7 - - - - - - - ??

"Suite 12" sounds a bit like a rented room. I agree the Law Society can soon check him out. Failing that if it's not too far you could always go and check out the address in person. Also, look in the A - Z see whereabout Fulbourne Road is and if it's in Walthamstow. Definitely do your homework, I would. good luck.

Lodon Numbers all start 0207 or 0208 even if they are fax numbers too.
Try the Law Society as previously suggested. Try the number but ONLY FROM A CALL BOX NOT FROM YOUR HOME PHONE OR MOBILE!!!! Also, try finding him on WWW.yell.com. And Google him (although this isn't an exact science, tried it for my own name and I know I'm not a middle aged woman who has had her horse stolen!)
Just checked A - Z, there is no Fulbourne Road in London. ALERT!!! Steer well clear!!!

The only thing that sparks suspicion for me is the telfax number. It seems a little long and does not have a london area code. 701 is actually a dialling code for North Dakota! Have you tried calling the number?

Could do with some more details. What do you want him for? If it's part of one of those Nigerian style scam spams where the writer pretends to be a lawyer and that all of your long-lost relatives have mysteriously died in the same crash and left you millions, then stay away. Or any similar scam in which you have to send money before you see any money yourself. They're all scams.

The phone number is a UK mobile phone or 'redirecting' service number - usually 07*** followed by 6 more digits.
Suggest - errr on the side of caution.
